Family Support Technology Platform

Family Support and peer driven service models are growing in use around the country. To reduce barriers to care, research has found that family peer advocates and paraprofessionals are effective facilitators of access to health services for consumers, parents, and caregivers. Research has further demonstrated that when adult peers provide outreach, emotional/social support, or education, health outcomes improve across multiple domains.

Objective Arts, along with partners in academia and state government, is designing and developing a unique system for not only tracking and supporting the critical data required for family support, but for exploring peer driven communities and direct support vehicles through Web 2.0 and social networking tools. OA often hears from the provider community that Family Support is an important service modality across the health care spectrum. As the need for effective and efficient health care continues to grow, supporting the family through experienced peers will become an increasingly important phenomenon.
