Incident Reporting Strategy

OA, in partnership with a major state Child Welfare Agency, has deployed a new software system that enables service providers the ability to quickly record and submit incident reports. Compared to the previous semi-automated legacy system, the application has been able to handle a larger volume of data with improved data quality, handling hundreds of incident reports each week.

Like other OA applications, our incident monitoring system can be supported by an underlying notification engine. This engine provides a platform for notification and alert services based on severity of the incident matched to levels of agency staff/management to allow for timely and appropriate intervention and management response.

The incident database provides key indicators to measure and compare quality of care between providers. These metrics have become an important component in the efforts of agencies to manage their service providers through quantitative and standardized operations data. OA is playing a key role in creating the data analytics and reporting for agency management.
