Why would something like behavioral health care benefit from finance and trading concepts. Its not what one usually thinks about when you mention behavioral health care. The primary reason is the benefit of standards. Behavioral health experts have been creating standard ways of measuring the nature of behavioral health care issues and their intensity for many years. The CANS, ACE, ASQ, and the PHQ-9 are just a few examples of assessments that clinicians, health systems, and government use to try to measure behavioral health outcomes. In the posts that follow we will describe how we use these standards, and others, to help those who are delivering care and those who need it. There is much to be gained from standardized tools in the hands of an expert clinician. We build software that benefits that expert and more importantly the person they are treating.
